Therapy for Children and Young People

There are times when children and young people may run into difficulties that are not easily sorted out especially if not addressed at an early stage. Having some help at the right time can make all the difference.
Therapy can help with:
Bereavement and loss; Bullying;
Family separation or divorce; Adoption;
Issues facing looked after children; Effects of trauma;
Anxiety and stress; Family illness;
Alcoholism and other addictions; Food and eating issues;
Unhappiness and depression; Difficulty making friends;
Relationships, gender identity and sexuality; Lack of confidence;
Low self-esteem; Sleep issues.
Therapy helps children and young people to identify and express feelings that may have been bottled up or which have become very difficult to deal with. Rather than having to explain what is troubling them, children and young people can use play therapy and the arts to communicate at their own level and at their own pace. Once time has been given to exploring these, it becomes possible to think about the way forward.
